Addressing the ‘FEEN Electro Tech 2022’ inaugural function, Finance Minister Janardan Sharma said that the government is serious about the problems of the entrepreneurs due to the rise in the interest rate and crunch in liquidity.

The finance minister said that the government was working in line with the suggestions put forward by the joint task force of the private sector, Rastra Bank, Ministry of Commerce and Finance Ministry.

He urged the business people to concentrate, as usual, on business rather than take to the street for agitation. Minister Sharma said he had proposed in the Cabinet for government intervention to solve the problems of the private sector.

On the occasion, Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) Managing Director Kulman Ghising has mentioned that the authority’s investment is focused on the development of electrical infrastructure to increase electricity consumption and Nepal will be fully independent in electricity in two years from now.

Ghising added that the government and NEA both are investing in the development of necessary electrical infrastructure. He further mentioned that various EV Expos are being held to increase the consumption of electricity produced in Nepal. Ghising said that expansion of charging stations and induction based cooking utensils are prioritized for electricity consumption. He said that electricity consumption cannot increase without the development of electricity transmission, distribution and substations. (By Ram Dangol)
