Lumbini, which was deserted last year due to covid-19, has started to see an increase in tourist this year with the start of the season. The movement of domestic and foreign tourists is increasing with the month of October. According to the fund, 289 thousand 695 people visited Lumbini internally and externally till October 2021, and in 2022, it increased to 626 thousand 452. 605 passport-carrying tourists visited Lumbini till October last year, and 13 thousand 166 in 2022.

 Similarly, last year 18 thousand 668 Indian tourists came, this year the number has increased to 1 lakhs 49 thousand 609 people. Due to the corona epidemic last year, it is natural that tourists visiting Lumbini were less. However, this year, as the risk of Covid is decreasing, the number of foreign tourists coming to Lumbini is gradually increasing. Lumbini is also a major destination for both foreign and domestic tourists.

Last year, 2 lakhs 70 thousand 422 Nepali tourists visited Lumbini even during the Covid epidemic. It is mentioned in the data of Lumbini Development Fund that 4 lakhs 63 thousand 677 people have visited this year till the month of October. Since the last week of Kartik, study observation tour teams of students from various schools and colleges have started to have a large presence. In addition to that, the number of people visiting Lumbini from various schools and colleges in Uttar Pradesh, India has also increased. Tourists are attracted by Mayadevi Temple, Ashoka Pillar, sacred Pushkarani Kund, domestic and foreign Bihar, viewing of World Peace Light and boat trip on Central Canal.
