Italian ambassador calls on Tourism Minister Shrestha

Italian ambassador to Nepal Bhinsenjo De’ Luka has paid a courtesy call on Minister for Tourism, Civil Aviation and Culture at the latter’s office at Singhdurbar. During the meeting bilateral relations, mutual interest and various aspects of cooperation were discussed, according to a press release issued by the ministry. Recalling the assistances being provided by Italian government in Nepal’s development endeavours, minister Shrestha expressed hope that the same will continue in future.

Italian government had provided valuable support for the reconstruction of historical and cultural heritages of Nepal destroyed by the 2015 earthquakes, he pointed out. Ambassador Luka said that Italian government was interested in providing assistance for reconstruction and maintenance of cultural heritages and historical sites of Nepal. During the meeting minister Shrestha informed the ambassador that Nepal government is working towards construction of Hanumandhoka – Swoyambhu heritage route for the promotion of tourism.
