Indian billionaire Gautam Adani, the head of Adani Group, has become the world’s second richest person. He surpassed Amazon’s, Jeff Bezos. Adani’s net worth is estimated to be around $155.7 billion up by $5.5 billion, according to Forbes magazine.
According to the Forbes real-time Billionaires list, Adani Group’s Chairperson and Indian billionaire Gautam surpassed Amazon’s Jeff Bezos to become the world’s second richest person.
Tesla’s Elon Musk, remains the world’s richest man with a $273.5 billion net worth, as per Forbes’ data. France’s Bernard Assault is third on the list with his family’s net worth totaling around $155.2 billion.
Strong earthquake hits eastern Taiwan
A 6.9-magnitude strong earthquake hit eastern Taiwan’s Hualien County at 2:44 p.m. local time on Sunday, according to the China Earthquake Networks Center. The epicentre was monitored at 23.15 degrees north latitude and 121.30 degrees east longitude, at a depth of 10 km, informed the CENC.
A three-storey building in Hualien, whose ground floor was a convenience store, collapsed shortly after the strong tremor was felt across the island, trapping some people inside, according to media reports.
A train carriage was turned over by a fallen rain shed in a railway station in Hualien, but all passengers left safe. A bridge fracture left two people injured. The rescue work was underway, according to media reports. However, other causality and damage was not reported immediately.
