Nepal and Australia sign MoU on Water Resources Management

Foreign Secretary of Nepal Bharat Raj Poudyal held a meeting with his Australian counterpart Ms. Jan Adams in Canberra on Sunday. During the meeting they discussed on various matters of bilateral relations and agreed to further expand and strengthen cooperation in different areas of mutual interests. On the occasion, Memorandum of Understanding between the government of Nepal and the government of Australia on cooperation fields of Water Resources Management was signed, according to a press release issued by Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Dinesh Kumar Ghimire, secretary, Water and Energy Commission Secretariat of Nepal and Ms. Jan Adams, secretary, Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Australia inked the MoU on behalf of their respective governments. A Nepali delegation led by foreign secretary Poudyal arrived in Canberra on August 28, 2022 to hold the second meeting of bilateral consultation mechanism between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Nepal and the ministry of Foreign Affairs of Australia, scheduled to take place on August 30, 2022.
