President returns controversial citizenship amendment Bill

Nepal’s President Bidya Devi Bhandari has returned the Nepal Citizenship, First Amendment Bill to the House of Representatives for reconsideration. 

The amendment bill was presented to the President for authentication after being endorsed by the HoR and the National Assembly (NA).

Issuing a statement to this effect on Sunday to this effect the spokesperson of the Office of the President, Sagar Acharya, said since it was felt necessary to review the Bill in the House, it has been sent back.
