Eastern Nepal was shaken by a strong earthquake on Sunday morning. An earthquake measuring 6.0 in the Richter scale hit Khotang district, 450 km east of Kathmandu at 8:13 am with its epicenter being Martinbirta in the district, according to National Seismology and Research Center. The jolt of the earthquake was felt clearly in Kathmandu valley as well. It was strongly felt in eastern Nepal districts including Morang, Jhapa, Sunsari, Saptari and Taplejung. Some houses were damaged in Khotang district due to the earthquake, according to reports. However, no any causality or major damages were reported from the earthquake so far.
