Democratic Socialist Party leaders, who me Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba at the latter’s residence in Baluwatar on Monday urged the Prime Minister to endorse the Citizenship Bill at the earliest.
In response to their demand, Prime Minister Deuba assured that the Citizenship Bill will be brought after answering questions relating to the budget being discussed in the Parliament, according to sources close to DSP.
“We have reached Baluwatar on Monday to meet the Prime Minister and the Prime Minister assured us to bring the Citizenship Bill soon after the budget discussions concludes,” a senior leader of the Democratic Socialist Party said. Party Chairman Mahantha Thakur, Rajendra Mahato, Sharad Singh Bhandari among other leaders, who were present during the meeting, also drew the attention of the Prime Minister over the 11-point demands submitted by them to the government on June 7.
