Independent Power Producers Nepal (IPPAN) and Expo and Investment Management Services are jointly organizing Himalayan Hydro Expo 2022 Bhrikutimandap in Kathmandu. The event is rescheduled to open on 2nd April and will conclude on 4th April. Marketing development and investment expansion are the key agenda of the event.

The event is being organized with the objective of informing about the latest technologies of international standards used in developing hydropower, gathering the stakeholders of hydro under one roof and discussing hydro development with different countries.

Moreover the expo is set to be organized in coordination with the Indian Embassy in Nepal. That will help to mutual cooperation between the energy related individuals and organizations. Similarly, the British Embassy and the Canadian High Commission in Kathmandu will extend their supports as are country partners.

The organizers expect the Himalayan Hydro Expo 2022 will give exposures of different dimension to the energy sector with the objective of accelerating the current state of energy generation with modern and innovative technologies in the hydropower and other renewable energy sectors in Nepal. So as this will support the government’s target of generating 15,000 MW of electricity in 10 years within year 2030.

The expo will also feature a rally of electric vehicles from Kathmandu to Pharping, where the first hydropower plant in the country was constructed in 1911. This EV rally will play an influential role in marketing of the electric vehicles and expanding the internal market of hydropower. Similarly, activities of electric cooking promotion will also be part of the expo. More than 50,000 people are expected to visit the expo.
