Umesh Prasad Singh elected president of FNCSI

Federation of Nepal Cottage and Small Industries (FNCSI) had elected a new executive committee of the unanimously under the chairmanship of Umesh Prasad Singh. The 25th National General Convention and 22nd National Women Entrepreneur Conference held in Birgunj had elected Singh as the president of FNCSI.

Singh was senior vice president for the earlier tenure led by Shyam Prasad Giri. Singh has been a founding member of the federation and has held various responsibilities as well as acting president.

Surya Bahadur KC was elected for the post of senior vice-president of the FNCSI. Similarly, vice-presidents Purna Bahadur Bhandari for micro enterprise, PrakashR awal for domestic industry, Chandan Krishna Shrestha for small industry, Mukesh Upadhyay for international relations, Shobha Gurung for women and Mohan Katuwal for commodities have been elected.

Shanta Baskota Koirala has been elected as vice-president for the association, Satya Narayan Prajapati for cooperative, Harihar Thapa for agriculture and Rajendra Man Shrestha for tourism. Dambar Prasad Regmi has been re-elected as the general secretary, Achyut Pandey as the treasurer and Deepak Bahadur Budha as secretary.

Bheshraj Pandey, Mahendra Bahadur Chitrakar and Rudra Prasad Neupane have been elected as secretaries of different categories of the federation. Gyan Bahadur Khadka has been elected as the co-treasurer and other 80 members have been elected to the new executive committee of the Federation.

Similarly, a new executive committee has been elected in the central women entrepreneur committee of the Federation under the chairmanship of Roshni Upadhyaya.

Rita Awal as senior vice-president, Krishna Kumari Pathak as vice-president for Enterprise Business, Tara Acharya as vice-president for the organisation have been elected. Dr. Soni Mahato has been elected as general secretary, Meena Tamang as treasurer and Deepa Shakya as secretary.

Singh, the newly elected president had said that he would work for the rights and interests of micro, cottage and small scale entrepreneurs by maintaining the dignity of FNCSI.

He had also mentioned that the presence of the FNCSI should be expanded across the country and an environment should be created for cottage and small scale entrepreneurs to move forward with self-respect.
