Vijay Shah appointed CEO of Himalayan General Insurance

Himalayan General Insurance Co. Ltd. (HGI), one of Nepal’s well established non-life insurance companies, recently appointed Vijay Bahadur Shah as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) with effective from February 13, 2022. “I am honoured and excited to have been appointed as the CEO at HGI. It is truly a privilege to be part of the credibility and history that HGI stands for” Shah had said. “HGI has a clear vision and purpose for the future and I will do my very best to lead the company and in still passion in the HGI team as we embark on this journey”, he added.

Prior to joining HGI, Shah was CEO at Nepal Insurance Co. Ltd. for 4 years and was instrumental in the positive transformation of the company.

Shah started his career from 1989 at Surya Nepal and after 12 years of hard work he joined Gorkha Brewery. Similarly he has also collected experience from Nepal Trust for Nature Conservation, National Investment and capital market, NLG Insurance and provided valuable services as the President of Nepal Insurers association. “Mr. Shah brings a varied and broad perspective to the insurance business,” said Mahendra K. Shrestha, chairman of HGI.
