Viveksheel Party opposes expansion of road in Lipulek

Viveksheel Sajha party has drawn serious attention to the unnatural and mysterious silence of the Government of Nepal regarding the recent public statement of the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi regarding the expansion of road in Lipulek, which lies within Nepal.

The silence and helplessness shown by the government is as objectionable as Modi’s statement when the map of Nepal including Kalapani, Lipulek and Limpiyadhura has been issued and the map has been included in the Nissan Chhap through the amendment to the constitution, said the party in its statement.

Diplomacy is, of course, not a matter of impulse and excitement. “However, if the Nepalese government fails to respond in timely manner, the country will have to face the far-reaching consequences of India’s recurring tendency to constantly interfere in Nepal’s sovereignty and geographical integrity, contrary to international law.” In Nepali territory, the patriotism of the neighbors is not acceptable to any citizen.

Viveksheel Sajha Party has urged the government to move forward with immediate diplomatic dialogue with India, “with a firm stand that construction of all kinds of structures on Nepali soil should be stopped immediately.”
