BIMSTEC Sec. Gen. calls on President, PM

Secretary General of the Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multilateral Technical and Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC) Tenzin Lekphell called on President Bidya Devi Bhandari and Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba in Kathmandu on Wednesday. During the meeting between President Bhandari and Lekphell at Rashtrapati Bhawan, Sheetal Niwas the two leaders discussed matters relating to enhancing regional cooperation among the member states to make the BIMSTEC process more effective, according to official sources, according to the office of the President. Earlier in the morning the BIMSTEC Secretary-General paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Deuba at his official residence at Baluwatar.  Ways to build on the progress made thus far and further consolidate the BIMSTEC process were discussed during the meeting,”
