West Bengal’s Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee will be visiting Nepal next week. She will visit Kathmandu at the invitation of ruling Nepali Congress party to attend the 14th General Convention of the NC, according to Indian media reports.
A formal invitation letter signed by Party president and PM Sher Bahadur Deuba was sent to Banerjee for the visit. “It is our firm belief that your gracious presence will encourage us to work together in the strengthening of democracy in Nepal and restrengthen our party to party relations,” Deuba wrote in the letter.
Banerjee is learnt to have accepted the invitation to attend the Nepali Congress General Convention being held in Kathmandu from December 10 to 14.
After visiting Nepal she may directly fly to Goa, where her party Trinamul Congress is planning a programme ahead of the upcoming state poll in 2021.
