Five office bearers of the main opposition party, CPN-UML, including Ishwor Pokharel have been elected unanimously in the ongoing 10th National Congress of the party on Monday.
Pokharel was elected as the Senior Vice-President of the party while Shankar Pokharel as the party’s general secretary.
Similarly, Deputy Secretary General trio Pradip Gwayali, Prithvi Subba Gurung and Bishnu Rimall have also been elected unanimously.
THough an official decision regarding their election is yet to be announced by the party. No other candidate filed candidacy to challenge them during the nomination. Meanwhile, party President KP Sharma Oli and Vice-President Bhim Rawal have filed their candidacy for the post of party’s President while seven others have staked their claim to the posts of six vice presidents. Senior leader and political ideologue Ghanashyam BHushas is one of the candidates for the post of Vice president. Also, in the post of seven secretaries of the party, as many as nine aspirants have filed their candidacy.
