Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has said that yoga and meditation help to maintain excellent healthy life, and people across the globe are these days pursuing yoga for sound physical and mental health. Inaugurating the Patanjali Sewa Sadan and ‘Swadeshi Samriddhi Card’ in Kathmandu, he said the entire world has accepted the Ayurvedic medicine which is beneficial to human life as it has no any side-effects.
On the occasion PM Deuba and CPN-Maoist Centre chairman Pushpakamal Dahal “Prachanda” jointly also inaugurated Aastha Nepal TV and Patanjali TV.
Deuba during the programme appreciated Yoga Guru Swami Ramdev Baba and Ayurveda Shiromani Acharya Balakrishna for their outstanding contributions in the field of yoga, meditation as well as promoting the use of Ayurvedic medicine.
He also assured all kinds of support and help from the side of the government in any endeavour made by Ram Dev for the promotion of Yoga and Ayurveda in Nepal.
Former Prime Minister ‘Prachanda’ described Baba Ramdev and Acharya Balakrishna as ‘great revolutionaries’ as they have brought new revolution through scientific practices of Yoga, taught society a healthy way of life by means of Yoga and Meditation as well as promoted Ayurveda as an industry.
The Maoist Centre Chair said that Nepal is rich in medicinal herbs and their plan of opening an industry in the country for processing and producing ayurvedic medicines will help Nepalese people in many ways. He appreciated Ram Dev and Balakrishna for their contribution to the economic, social and cultural development of Nepal.
Former Prime Minister and CPN (Unified Socialist) Chair Madhav Kumar Nepal said Ayurved medicine and naturopathy have significant value in present day world and underlined the need for using Ayurvedic medicine together with the modern medicine for building a healthy society. Recalling that his health problem was resolved after he started practising yoga, he said yoga and meditation have great significance in the life of all. He could not comfortably sit on the ground due to problems on his knee which was resolved after practicing Yoga for a few weeks, he added.
Minister for Road Transport and Highways of the Government of India, Nitin Gadkari, who joined the programme virtually, lauded institutions as Patanjali for the works like generating positive thinking among people and supporting the society through yoga science and Ayurveda when the whole world was suffering from the COVID-19 pandemic. He said that Baba Ramdev and Acharya Balakrishna have carried out significant work in terms of providing relief in the life of people through research, processing, production and manufacturing medicine from herbs in Nepal and India.
Union Minister Gadkari informed that the Government of India was carrying out the construction of various roads under the 436 kilometres long Ramjanaki highway linking Ayodhya, the birth place of Rama with Janakpur, the birth place of Sita. He also spoke about the importance of the Buddha Circuit which is under consideration by government of India to connect all four important pilgrim sites related to Buddha’s life including Lumbini of Nepal and Bodhgaya of India expeditiously.
Baba Ramdev said Nepal could be the capital as well as the centre of attraction for the whole world for yoga, healthy life, Pranayama and Ayurvedic medicine. Stating that all the human beings were the offspring of a single God, he urged one and all to move ahead with a sense of equality of all by eliminating all types of discrimination. Acharya Balakrishna had informed about various plans being implemented in Nepal through the Patanjali Yogapeeth.
