Nepal Telecom, the state-owned tele communications company in Nepal, has announced that it will give sim cards for free to senior citizens, those above the age of 60 years, for the next 10 days. The company made the announcement on the occasion of the International Day for Older Persons, being celebrated across the world on Friday. The free sim card will have Rs 10 in its balance. In addition, the users can also have free calls for up to 40 minutes, send 20 SMS and use 60 MB data for free for one month. Senior citizens in Nepal enjoy waivers on medical treatment and public transport fare among others.
