Deuba vows to protect and implement the Constitution on 7th Constitution Day

The seventh Constitution Day was observed across Nepal on Sunday by organizing various programmes. In his address to the nation Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba on the occasion expressed pride over the promulgation of the constitution six years ago by the representatives elected by the people following the successful People’s Movement, armed conflict and the Madhesh Movement. 

PM Deuba remembered all the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the progressive change in the country and expressed his heartfelt condolences to them.  PM Deuba underlined the need to protect and implement the Constitution.

“The Constitution of Nepal 2015 is a realization of the dreams of the immortal martyrs and the aspirations of the Nepali people. Our goal is to bring prosperity in the country along with the happiness of the people through successful implementation of the constitution,” remarked PM Deuba. He said that amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, the government was working to protecting people’s lives from the COVID-19 pandemic through acceleration of vaccination drive and reviving the nation’s economy.

Meanwhile,US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken has said the 75-year friendly relations between the United States of America and Nepal have been made stronger by the people to people cordiality.    

In a statement issued on the occasion of the Constitution Day of Nepal on Sunday, the US Secretary of State has congratulated the Government and the people of Nepal on behalf the US government and people, recalling the collaboration between the two countries in the past years in facing up the common challenges.    He has also stated that the two countries worked together in the fight against the corona virus pandemic and climate change. The US Secretary of State has also extended best wishes to all the Nepalis on this occasion.
