Student bodies close to the CPN (Unified Socialist), a party in the ruling alliance, Monday burned the effigy of Home Minister Bal Krishna Khand. A group of students led by Sudesh Parajuli, Chairman of student wing close to the CPN (Socialist), burned the effigy of Home Minister Khand at Min Bhawanin the outskirt of Kathmandu as a symbolic protest against the ‘warning’ issued by the ministry on Sunday.
Releasing a press statement on Sunday, the Home Ministry warned to take action against those burning the effigy of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the issue of Mahakali river tuin incident.
Different organizations have been protesting in Kathmandu for the past few weeks after Nepali youth Jay Singh Dhami was killed while trying to cross the river with the help of a tuin in the presence of India’s SSB.
The students also protested against the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) during the event.
