Senior leader of BJP, Vijaya Chauthaiwale, who arrived in Kathmandu on Sunday at the invitation of ruling Nepali Congress party met senior political leaders of Nepal including Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deub and CPN- Maoist Centre chief Pushpakamal Dahal “Prachanda”. Arzu Deuba, spouse of Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba tied Rakhi in the hand of Chauthaiwale, who is also the chief of Foreign Affairs Department of the ruling party of India on the occasion of Janai Purnima, at Baluwatar utilizing the occasion.
The incident not only symbolizes cultural proximity between Nepal and India, but observers here believe that it as opened new horizon of Rakhi diplomacy between Nepal and India. With Arzoo tying rakhi to Chauthaiwale, at Baluwatar, the much talked Roti-Beti relationship that is believed to exist between Nepal and India has been proven, pointed out a neutral observer.
