Deuba extends greetings to Modi on Independence Day

Prime Minister of Nepal Sher Bahadur Deuba extended greetings to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the occasion of the 75th Indian Independence Day of India. “On the occasion of the 75th Independence Day of #India, Congratulations and greetings to Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi ji, the Government and people of India,” he tweeted. Best wishes for the continued progress and prosperity, wrote PM Deuba. In his response Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi thanked PM Deuba for his message of greetings. “I thank Prime Minister Shri Sher Bahadur Deuba for his greetings and good wishes!,” the Indian PM tweeted. The people of India and Nepal are united by our shared cultural, linguistic, religious and family linkages,” he wrote. Meanwhile, on the occasion of the Independence Day Indian Ambassador to Nepal Vinay Mohan Kwatra on Sunday “felicitated widows and next of kin of deceased Gorkha soldiers of Indian Armed Forces by disbursing their dues worth Rs 40.45 million and a blanket to each family amidst a function organized in Indian Embassy, Kathmandu,” according to Indian Embassy sources. “The celebrations also featured rendition of patriotic songs and dance by teachers and students of Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre of the Embassy and Kendriya Vidyalaya School, Kathmandu.”
