The Deuba government has brought back Kulman Ghising as the Managing Director of Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) on Wednesday after an interval of 11 months. He had served in the same position for 4 years. K.P. Sharma Oli government had decided not to continue Ghising for the second term.
A meeting of the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers held on Monday decided to appoint Ghising to his former post at NEA. However letter of appointment was issued on Tuesday and Ghising joined the NEA office after receiving letter of appointment from the Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation in presence of Energy Minister Pampha Bushal.
With the appointment of Kulman Ghising in NEA, incumbent Managing Director of the NEA Hitendra Dev Shakya has been transferred to the Water and Energy Commission Secretariat. Earlier in his four years tenure, Kulman Ghising had successfully managed to reduce load-shedding hours to zero. He had also succeeded to tgenerate profit for NEA, which was running in a huge loss in the past. People appreciate him much for his success to end the load shedding in the country.
