Prof. Dr. Hari Badan Pradhan, a leading nursing sector professional and nutritionist passed away recently at the age of 83. She was suffering from heart and kidney related diseases. She was admitted at Manmohan Cardiothoracic Vascular and Transplant Centre, TU Teaching Hospital in Maharajgunj, Kathmandu where she breathed last on July 21, 2021.
Dr. Pradhan was educated on Nursing Science in 1960s in the USA. She had received PhD from Tirbhuvan University. She had also received a Masters Degree in Public Health from Israel. She had served as Assistant Dean at the Institute of Medicine, TU and campus chief at Maharajgunj Nursing Campus. She had led the Nursing Association of Nepal as chairperson in late 1970s.
She has a son and two daughters. Her spouse Ganesh Ballabh Pradhan was a renowned journalist of Nepal who passed away three and a half years ago. Late Dr. Pradhan was mother of Shirish Ballabh Pradhan who is also a journalist serving as Nepal correspondent of thr Press Trust of India (PTI) and publisher and editor of The Nepal Weekly.
