Police have arrested two local youths from Birtamod of Jhapa district who are involved in human trafficking. Laxmi Das, 20 and Khushbu Bishwokarma, 19, have been arrested from Birtamod on Friday on charges of trafficking local girls to neighbouring India. The police have rescued a 16 year old girl and a 20 year old woman, who were taken to Chhaudadano of Indian State of Bihar, for selling them in the pretext of providing them with lucrative job, according to a press release issued by Nepal Police. A team of police personnel dispatched from District Police Office, Parsa rescued the women with the help of the Indian police from Bihar. They were taken to India in the pretext of providing them with a job in orchestra in Birgunj Municipality, a Nepalese city bordering India. The police have initiated action against the duo taking them into custody and a search has been launched for three other culprits who are at large.
