Nepal’s coronavirus caseload has surged to 657,139 as of Monday with 1,690 more people testing positive for the infection in the past 24 hours.
Meanwhile, the total coronavirus recoveries stand at 621,027 with 1,533 discharges logged in the past 24 hours. On the other hand, the countrywide Covid-19 mortality toll soared to 9,400 with 18 more fatalities.
As per the latest data provided by the Ministry of Health and Population, a total of 11,584 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours of which 7,689 were done through PCR method while 3,895 were antigen tests.
Similarly, antigen tests have confirmed 680 positive cases in the past 24 hours. The total number of single-day infections from both the RT-PCR and antigen tests reached 2,370.
Nepal’s Covid-19 recovery rate currently stands at 94.5%, while the fatality rate is 1.5%.
The country’s active Covid-19 case count currently stands at 26,712.
The capital city recorded as many as 289 infections today while Lalitpur and Bhaktapur recorded 90 and 54 respectively.
So far, a total of 3,690,999 people have received coronavirus vaccine across the country, of which 2,611,807 have received the first dose while only 1,079,192 individuals have been inoculated with both the doses and are fully vaccinated.
Globally, over 187 million people have been infected by the novel coronavirus while 4 million people have lost their lives to the disease. Likewise, over 171 million people have recovered while more than 11 million cases are still active.
