Nepal on Monday detected 3,442 fresh corona infections from across the country. With this, the total
countrywide infection tally has now jumped to 303,561. Of the newly infected, 1,333 are females and
2,109 are males.
Meanwhile, antigen tests confirmed 118 positives in the past 24 hours. As such, total infections from both
RT-PCR and antigen tests added up to 3,556 on Monday. Of the total cases that
surfaced in the last 24 hours, Kathmandu district holds the highest number of new infections — 1,567
cases. Lalitpur reported 223 cases whereas 122 new cases were reported from Bhaktapur.
Likewise, 378 people who were earlier infected with the virus are reported to have recovered in the past
24 hours as per the latest data provided by health ministry. As of Monday, 277,951 individuals have
recovered from the novel coronavirus infection. The recovery rate from the disease stands at 91.5 per
Nepal’s active Covid-19 case count currently stands at 22,434. The nationwide death-toll has advanced
to 3,176 with 12 Covid-related fatalities reported in the past 24 hours.
According to the health ministry, 13,293 total tests were conducted in the last 24 hours, of which 12,400
were PCR tests while 893 were antigen tests. With this, a total of 2,417,417 PCR tests have been carried
out in Nepal till date.
